HOW WE WORK

A real-world salon experience from day one.

From the moment you start, you'll be part of the team, working on real client dogs under the guidance of experienced professionals. You'll develop the technical skills the qualification demands, and gain a real understanding of how a successful grooming salon operates day to day. You'll leave with the skills to work in a professional salon, and the knowledge to run your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I work on real dogs during the course?

Yes, from day one. You train on our own clients' dogs inside the working salon, under the guidance of experienced groomers.

Are your courses City and Guilds accredited?

All our courses lead to City and Guilds qualifications, the most widely recognised credentials in the dog grooming industry.

What is the difference between Level 2 and Level 3 dog grooming?

Level 2 covers the foundations: bathing, drying, coat preparation, handling, and basic trimming, enough to work as a grooming assistant. Level 3 takes you to full professional standard, with styling and finishing, health and safety, client care, and the knowledge to run your own salon.

Do I need any experience to train as a dog groomer?

No. Our Level 2 Certificate and our Fully Qualified course are both built for people with no previous experience. The standalone Level 3 Diploma is the exception, as it requires a City and Guilds Level 2 first.

Which dog grooming course should I choose?

If you're completely new to grooming, Fully Qualified takes you all the way through, both levels in one seamless course, and works out cheaper than taking them separately. The Level 2 Certificate is the lighter first step if you want to start as a grooming assistant. The Level 3 Diploma is for groomers who already hold their Level 2 and want to qualify fully.
