Meet the Team

I'm Rachel, and I've been part of the Hackney Barkers team since 2025.

Growing up in a home surrounded by animals, I developed a deep connection with dogs from an early age. With my father's lifelong love of animals, I was raised alongside Yorkshire Terriers and other pets, which shaped my natural understanding of animal behaviour and care.

I began my grooming journey in 2019 in Hong Kong, gaining foundational skills and early professional experience alongside work as a veterinary assistant, which strengthened my knowledge of animal welfare and handling. When I moved to the UK, I transitioned from Asian fusion styling to breed-standard grooming and hand stripping, broadening my technical ability across a wider range of breeds.

I am known for my calm, animal-focused approach, always prioritising comfort and care. I continue to develop my skills in breed-specific grooming and hand stripping with a strong focus on consistency and technique.
