Meet the Team

I'm Jade, the founder of Hackney Barkers, and I've been grooming professionally since 2011.

My love for animals started early, growing up surrounded by dogs and developing a natural connection that still shapes my work today. After working in a different field, I made the decision to retrain, enrolling in a City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and never looking back.

From there, I dedicated myself entirely to the craft, progressing into national and international competition grooming and developing a strong eye for detail, structure, and breed-specific styling. Alongside my grooming career, I continued my studies in canine behaviour, psychology, and nutrition, each of which plays a key role in how I understand and support the dogs in my care.

My approach is calm, intuitive, and built around patience. Every dog that comes through the door is treated as an individual, given the time and space they need to feel safe and at ease. More often than not, you will find me chatting softly to them as I work.
